History of Scotts of Stow

Scotts of Stow is the trading name of the flagship brand of retail company Scotts and Co. American businessman Robert Scott moved to the UK in 1963 and spent some years working for a number of big companies such as Remington. In 1991 he took semi-retirement and relocated to the market town of Stow-on-the-Wold in the Cotswolds, where he founded Scotts of Stow. The company sells homeware, bedding, garden furniture, kitchenware and other house and home articles via mail order and online, as well as out of its main store and subsidiaries which are all still located in their home town of Stow-on-the-Wold.

Delivery Information

Standard UK delivery costs £4.95 per order, regardless of how many items are in the order but with some large or heavy items being subject to an additional charge. These large items are indicated on the Scotts of Stow website with either one red lorry icon, which means an additional delivery charge of £15.00, or two red lorries, incurring an additional charge of £30.00.

Standard delivery usually takes place within 8 days, although sometimes 14-21 days are required for items that are dispatched from third party companies. Express next day delivery is available on eligible orders (as indicated on the website) for £6.95.

Deliveries are trackable and details of estimated delivery times are emailed to customers on confirmation of order dispatch.

Returns Policy

Unwanted resaleable items in original packaging can be returned for exchange or refund within 14 days of purchase. Certain items are excluded from the returns policy unless they are faulty, including personalised items, opened DVDs, mattresses, pillows, software, pierced earrings and self-assembled furniture.

The customer is responsible for the cost of posting returns and the company recommends insuring postage of returns that are worth more than £30.
