Wiggle can trace its origins back to a small bike shop in Portsmouth, called Butler Cycles, which was formed back in the 1920s. But it was only after Mitch Dall took over that 'Bikes @ Butlers' began to boom, with a mail order service that sent bikes and apparel nationwide. From those early roots, the Wiggle website was born in 1999, and it hasn't looked back since.
The Wiggle website sold a whole range of wacky paraphernalia, from condoms to solar eclipse viewing glasses, before it decided to specialise in sporting goods. Such was their success, they were able to set up a new London office, two new warehouses, and their very own brand in 2011. They then set up eleven new websites for overseas customers in 2012.
Wiggle only hire sports enthusiasts who are passionate about their chosen discipline. It's essential for their operation, since those employees trial every new product, to ensure they are always the best on the market. Wiggle also tests every single bike they sell, to ensure that it is ready to ride.
The company is known for the wide network of events it sponsors. In 2013 they supported a whopping 96 events, almost two a week; from 'Mudman' to the 'Eton Swim', the 'Winter Ball Buster' and the 'WildMan'. They even sponsor the UCI ladies professional cycling team, 'Wiggle Honda'.
Wiggle have made it their mission to give as many people as possible the chance to try cycling and tri-sport events. By selling a top quality range of products, from a variety of top brands, they have done just that. With one of their voucher codes, which are regularly available to use online, they usually offer much better value than any of their competitors.
